The South Asian group is a cultural group in New Life Fellowship Church that is under the Communities and Small group division. In 2013, the South Asian group was formed by the guidance of Pastor Pete Scazzero. The South Asian group is uniquely composed of eight different nations: India, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan, Maldives, Bangladesh, and the recent addition, Afghanistan
Ways To Connect
Currently we have about 85 participants. Every year we gather 3-4 times during the 3rd service and usually meet at the church. We hold events like summer parties, thanksgiving lunch, and the South Asian small groups. The small group meets on the Second Sunday of the month in Elmhurst. Please contact Sepali at 347-589-0922 for more information.
- Summer parties – During the summer time we get together, go to a park, eat plenty of food, and play fun games. This has also been a good opportunity to share the gospel with non believers.
- Thanksgiving gathering – Into the fall season celebrating Thanksgiving, we gather to have a potluck with various foods. There we discuss what we are thankful for, play games, and enjoy the company of each other.
- South Asian small group – In our small group held once a month, 8-12 people gather and we worship, discuss the sermon preached on Sunday, pray for each other’s requests and let the Holy Spirit move.
Our primary goal is to connect with more people on levels of friendship, develop a greater relationship with God, reach the world, and start more small groups.
