Got Questions About Faith?
We believe that everyone should have the chance to explore the Christian faith, ask questions, and share their point of view.
Alpha For Adults
Alpha is a series of gatherings where people can explore the big questions of life in a supportive and safe environment. Our gatherings typically begin with food and fellowship, followed by a short talk and small group discussions. Alpha is for everyone! Those who are interested in investigating Christianity, new to the church, new to Christianity, or just want to brush up on the basics are especially encouraged to attend.
We Believe For Kids
If your child has been talking about following Jesus and is considering baptism, we invite you to start with We Believe, our class for families with kids who are exploring their faith. We will help equip you to talk about faith and pray with your child. We want every parent and child to feel totally comfortable with the next steps. This class is required for any child in grades 1-5 to be baptized at New Life. This class is one of the first steps in the New Life Kids discipleship process. It’s a precursor to our kids’ Baptism Bash.
What Is Baptism?
Baptism is an important part of each person’s faith story. It is an outward sign—a step of obedience—taken by a disciple of Jesus Christ. The word “baptize” comes from the Greek, meaning “to immerse” (with water). Baptism itself does not “save” a person. We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, for salvation from sin and spiritual death (Eph. 2: 8-9).
Whether you are pursuing believer baptism or making the decision to dedicate or baptize your child, we want to provide helpful resources and journey with you through this important faith decision.
Baptism is a public proclamation of faith, but it is also a very personal response to a relationship with Jesus Christ. If you are a follower of Jesus and would like to be baptized, we invite you to take this next step. Contact us. We’ll be happy to hear your story, answer your questions, and walk you through the process.
Our Baptism Bash is a special event celebrating your child’s decision to trust Jesus as Lord and Savior. Family, friends, and small group leaders join together to celebrate and bear witness to your child’s step of faith in a big way! Our We Believe class is the first step in the New Life Kids discipleship process and a precursor to our Baptism Bash for children in grades 1-5. For more information about our baptism event, please email us.
Baby Dedication is a time set aside where parents make a commitment to intentionally parent their child with an end in mind. It’s a time for your family & friends to come alongside you and commit to helping you achieve your end goal for your child. And it’s a time for the church to say, we’ll partner with you to help your child develop into a growing follower of Jesus. Prior to the big event, parents are given homework and invited to an orientation to talk about parenting, to share important information about our Preschool Environment, and to get information about the celebration.
WHAT DOES BAPTISM SIGNIFY?
In the Holy Scriptures, baptism signifies:
– Union with God through Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. (Rom. 6: 3-4)
– An act of obedience to Jesus’ instructions for each disciple to be baptized. (Matt. 28: 18-19)
– A public declaration of our faith in Jesus Christ. (Rom. 10: 9-10)
– Identification with our spiritual family, the body of Christ. (1 Cor. 12: 13)
– A symbol of Jesus’ cleansing us from sin. (Acts 22:16)
AM I SPIRITUALLY READY TO BE BAPTIZED?
We believe the sacrament of baptism is for every person who has received, through faith in Jesus Christ and his atoning death, forgiveness from sin and the gift of eternal life.
DO YOU BAPTIZE INFANTS?
At New Life Fellowship, we wait until our children are old enough to make a conscious choice for Jesus Christ. We desire them to understand the meaning of baptism so that they may fully participate in the experience. We dedicate infants and pray for them to grow into a relationship with Christ.
SHOULD I BE RE-BAPTIZED?
If you have been baptized before you’ve made a personal commitment to Christ, we invite you to be baptized as a believer by your own free choice.
